CAR T Cell-Induced Cytokine Release Syndrome

Medications for Cytokine Release Syndrome

Other names: CAR-T Cell-Induced Cytokine Release Syndrome; Cytokine-Associated Toxicity

Around Cytokine Release Syndrome:

Cytokine release syndrome (CRS) is a group of symptoms that occur as a side effect for cancer immunotherapy treatment. Signs of CRS can be mild to mild such as chills, fever, nausea, headache, rash, irritated throat, nausea and throwing up. Severe signs of CRS can include heart issues, low blood pressure and decrease oxygen levels, which can become life threatening. CRS happens when there is a huge release of messenger proteins (cytokines) from resistant cells that were triggered by immunotherapy treatment.
